The El Burro Margarita is a Mexican Style Margarita I was thinking that its a perfect time to share this recipe because Fourth of July is in just a few days. This recipe was adapted from the book Margarita Rocks. Its easy to make this Margarita El Burro it has a lot of kick to it. The spicy ginger beer gets you at the back of the throat when you swallow. I used the Goya brand Ginger Beer.
1.5 oz Hornidos Sauza Tequila
3/4 oz fresh lime juice
3 drops of bitters (optional)
1/2 oz agave syrup
3/4 cup ginger beer
Thinly sliced limes
Fill a glass with ice and then add the tequila, fresh lime juice, bitters, agave syrup and the ginger beer. Stir well with a spoon and garnish with fresh thinly sliced lime wheels. Serve.
Note: Ginger Beer is found in the soda area of most grocery stores.
Have you ever had a El Burro Margarita? What might you add or subtract from this recipe?
