This is one of my favorite recipes for hummus. I like to make hummus because it’s easy, fast and it tastes great! I just modify the herbs depending on what I’m in the mood for at that time.
1 (15.5 ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
3 Tbsp Sesame Tahini
2 roasted garlic cloves
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon fresh cilantro
1/4 cup water (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and let it run for about 1 minute until all the beans are smooth you may need to scrape down the sides of the bowl a few times. If the dip is to thick then slowly add the water while the processor is mixing. This will help make the hummus less dense. You can use a combination of spices and herbs with this recipe. I’ve even added a tablespoon of diced pickled jalapenos to give it a little bit of heat or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
Serve this with cucumbers, red peppers, carrots, steamed asparagus, broccoli or cauliflower.
What other vegetables or ingredients do you like with hummus?
